Dreidel (Preview)

Dreidel (Preview)

Release Date - Nov. 14, 2026 @ 10am CST (Chicago)

The Dreidel (also called Sevivon in Hebrew) is a 4 sided spinning top and game played during the Jewish holiday Hanukkah. The sides are decorated with letters from the Hebrew alphabet that indicate what to do while playing the game and also are placed in a specific order to represent "A great miracle happened there" which is a reference to the origins of Hanukkah.

Interestingly, its origins come from a 16th century European gambling game called Teetotum. It was adapted by the Jewish culture around 1890. I remember enjoying learning about about the Dreidel in school growing up as well as playing it with friends and family around the holidays.

Jason shared his story: “I have always enjoyed building things since I was a kid. I used to work with my dad on projects around the house and create art projects with my mom. As I got older I started working with tools more, building furniture, making lamps, decorative boxes and other little gifts for family and friends."
